Day One… of a lot…
Our LAST morning in San Diego was well spent with a nice walk along the Pacific Beach boardwalk and pier after one last latte’ at Josh’s FAV place, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters… I do think he cried a little as we walked out.

When I ask Josh for one last ocean selfie… this is what I get…
Can you see the tears in his eyes? Already missing these latte’s!
We finished packing up Juanita (trailer), said bye to some friends, and pulled out of our home for the last 4.5 years with all fingers and toes crossed Juanita was hooked to Charlie (truck) correctly and we would make it to our first stop unscathed…. Drum roll please… we did!

Packed and ready to go!
Can you guess who’s more excited?
Stop ONE was at Soledad Canyon RV & Camping Resort in Acton, CA….
Why did we come here?
We’re Thousand Trails members so it was a cheap place to stay, not TOO far from San Diego for our first drive, and it was Labor Day weekend, so we needed a place to just park it for a few days and get used to Travel Trailer Life.
In Acton, we saw some beautiful sunsets, had some lazy morning walks with coffee (after the first disappointing morning we realized we had 4 full bags of fresh beans and no grounds… and no grinder), got a water filter for the trailer attachment, and lots of other odds and ends we realized we needed.
Time flew by pretty quickly since everything was so new… after a few days, we were packing up and headed for our FIRST national park experience… King’s Canyon on deck!
