Meet The Brandts

Hi, I’m Hannah Brandt, that stud behind me is Josh… and we’re the Brandts. Oh, we do have Juanita and Charlie, our travel trailer and truck, but you met them in our earlier blog.

I am going to be your narrator throughout this blog as we share our journey across the US. I would describe myself as funny, always up to try new things, into fitness and nutrition, educated, and overall a 5’5″ blonde ready to take on the world. Josh would describe me as someone who thinks she is funny, a neurotic ball of stress, and way to into oatmeal and Greek yogurt for it to be considered normal. Let’s just say I’m probably right in the middle of the two perspectives… Onto Josh. I would describe him as having a hunger for life, my Mr. Fix-It, modest, hilarious, kinda harry, and my favorite person in the world. Josh would tell you I am full of crap, roll his eyes, and refuse to give me a better description.

I Digress.

We have never been in a travel trailer, let alone owned one. The biggest thing I have ever driven before our truck was my mom’s mini van I stole one night to pick up my brother and his buddies when I was in high school. Let’s just say for the sake of our marriage, when Juanita is hooked up to Charlie, you’ll find me safely in the passenger seat… Josh can handle that all by himself.

Our Story… cliff notes version….

  • We met and started dating in 2011 when I was in grad school at Ohio University studying Physical Therapy and Josh was working at Honda.
  • We decided quitting our jobs and moving to San Diego sounded fun in 2014… so early 2015 we drove out west in my little Chevy Cruze without jobs, family, friends, or a place to live… oh and we got engaged riiiiight before the big move. Yay!
  • I officially became a Brandt in August 2016, and Josh and I have lived in Pacific Beach, San Diego since early 2015.
  • We’ve spent an amazing 4.5 years out here in San Diego meeting some of the most wonderful people and experiencing some of the most incredible places this part of the world has to offer.
  • And now it’s time to keep our story going….

Since we have to drive back across the country to eventually settle down near family anyway, why not take the scenic route? We try not to take life too seriously and this sounded like way too good of an idea to pass up…

Labor Day Weekend 2019 we are headed north in Charlie with Juanita safely towing behind us as we spend the rest of the year driving, hiking, eating, drinking, laughing, and experiencing everything we can get our hands on in this amazing country.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know us a little better and feel free to drop us a comment and help us get to know YOU as you follow our adventure.
